Brad Pitt is an American actor and producer. In 1995, he was Golden Globe winner for his role in the film Twelve Monkeys. In 2014, he was awarded Oscar as one of the producers of the film 12 Years a Slave.
William Bradley Pitt was born on December 18, 1963 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. William grew up in a very religious American family. His father, William Pitt, worked as a manager and his mother, Jane Etta Hillhouse, worked as a teacher at the local school. William, his brother Doug and sister Julie grew up in Springfield (Missouri), where the family moved soon after his birth.
After high school, William entered the University of Missouri where he studied journalism and advertising. However, after graduation he went to Hollywood to start his acting career. There he changed his name to Brad Pitt. At first Pitt worked as a driver, carrier and even invited passers-by to visit El Pollo Loco dressed in a suit of a giant chicken.

His career began in 1987. He played in such films as No Way Out, No Man’s Land and Less Than Zero. He made his debut on television playing in several episodes of the TV series Another World and Growing Pains, later he appeared in the TV series Dallas. The following year Brad starred in the TV series 21 Jump Street.
In 1988, he finally got the lead role in the film The Dark Side of the Sun.

In 1991, the actor played the role of J.D. in the film Thelma & Louise and became new sex symbol.
In 1994, he played Louis de Pont du Lac in the movie Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles based on Anne Rice’s book and received two MTV Movie Awards.
For his role in the film Legends of the Fall based on the novel by Jim Harrison Pitt was first nominated for Golden Globe. After this film People magazine named him that year’s Sexiest Man Alive (he held the title again in 2000).
In 1995, along with Morgan Freeman, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kevin Spacey, Brad Pitt starred in David Fincher’s thriller Seven (Se7en). After the movie Seven Pitt agreed to play a supporting role in Terry Gilliam’s 12 Monkeys, the main role played Bruce Willis. For his role the actor got his first Golden Globe and nomination for Oscar.
Pitt got the lead role in the movie Meet Joe Black in 1998.
In 1999, Pitt played one of his most famous roles in the film Fight Club by David Fincher.

Together with Julia Roberts, Pitt starred in the romantic comedy The Mexican, and Robert Redford was his partner in the political thriller Spy Game. Also in 2001, Brad appeared in an episode of the TV series Friends. In addition, Pitt starred in Ocean’s Eleven together with George Clooney, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Andy Garcia, and other well-known actors.
In 2004, Pitt played the role of Achilles in the historical drama Troy based on Homer’s poem Iliad.
His next film was action comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith in which he played with Angelina Jolie.
He also acted opposite Cate Blanchett in Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s drama Babel. The film was shown at the Cannes Film Festival and the Toronto Film Festival and received seven nominations for Oscar and the actor was nominated for Golden Globe.
In 2006 he established Make It Right, a multimillion-dollar project to construct environmentally friendly homes in New Orleans for people displaced by Hurricane Katrina, to which he pledged to match $5 million in contributions.
He also headed his own film-production company, Plan B Entertainment.
In 2008, the actor played in the film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button based on Francis Scott Fitzgerald’s story. Pitt received his second nomination for Oscar and the fourth for Golden Globe.

Then the actor played in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds which was shown at the Cannes Film Festival 2009.
Along with Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain actor starred in Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life.
The role of Billy Beane in the biographical drama Moneyball brought Pitt nominations for Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA.
In 2013, Pitt produced and starred in historical drama 12 Years a Slave directed by Steve McQueen. The film was named the best of the year, and Brad Pitt received BAFTA Award and his first Oscar as the film’s producer.
He also starred in Fury (2014), By the Sea (2015), The Big Short (2015).
In 2016 he played in the film Allied together with French actress Marion Cotillard.

Personal life

On the set of the thriller Seven in 1995, Brad became friends with Gwyneth Paltrow who played his wife. Their engagement took place in December 1996. They unexpectedly announced their separation in June 1997.

On July 29, 2000 Pitt married actress Jennifer Aniston. They parted on March 25, 2005, after five years of marriage. On October 2, 2005 they were officially divorced.

On January 11, 2006 Angelina Jolie and Brad confirmed their relationship. Their daughter was born on May 27, 2006 in Namibia and their twins were born on July 12, 2008 in France.
On August 23, 2014 Pitt and Jolie were married in France. On September 20, 2016 Angelina Jolie filed for divorce.
