Marilyn Monroe was a huge sex symbol, and one of the 20th century’s biggest icons. During her film career she made 31 movies.
Norma Jean Baker (her real name) was born on June 1, 1926 in Los Angeles, California. She had an unhappy childhood in Los Angeles. Marilyn’s mother had psycho-logical problems and was eventually sent to a mental institution. Marilyn spent years moving in and out of orphanages and foster homes. It was in one of these foster homes at the age of nine that she was raped.
She got married on June 19, 1942 when she was only sixteen. Her husband, James Dougherty, joined the U.S. Merchant Marine in 1943. Marilyn took a job working at the Radio Plane Munitions Factory. It was there that photographer David Conover discovered her. By 1946, she’d already appeared on various magazine covers.

George Timothy Clooney was born on May 6, 1961 in Lexington, Kentucky into a family of Nina Bruce, a former beauty queen, and Nick, a journalist, TV host and passionate politician. Clooney grew up in an Irish Catholic family. He has an elder sister, Adele, and actors Miguel and Rafael Ferrer are his cousins. From an early age Clooney took part in his father’s shows, where he was a favorite of the public.

In 1942, the girl began starring in films.
In 1943 Taylor was cast opposite Mickey Rooney in National Velvet, the story of a young woman who wins a horse in the lottery and eventually rides it in England’s Grand National Steeplechase. During filming, she was thrown from a horse and suffered a broken back, but forced herself to finish the project.

He attended private schools in California and Massachusetts, Rice Institute in Houston, and the California Institute of Technology. His mother died when Hughes was 16 and his father when he was 18. After his parents death Howard inherited Hughes Tool Company.

Mary was born Gladys Louise Smith on April 8, 1893 in Toronto, Canada. Her father, John Charles Smith, was an alcoholic laborer who abandoned his family. He died of a cerebral hemorrhage in 1898 after an accident at work. Her mother, Charlotte, took in borders and sewing to support her family. Mary had younger brother Jack and younger sister Lottie.
Pickford began acting at the age of six to support her family. She worked primarily in stock company melodramas in Toronto and tours across Canada.

Francis Albert Sinatra was born on December 12, 1915 into a family of Italian immigrants in Hoboken, New Jersey. He was the only child of Martin and Natalie Sinatra. After his son’s birth, his father, Martin, participated in boxing fights to support his family. Since the beginning of the war Sinatra’s father worked as a fireman.
Since his childhood Francis wanted to become a singer. Rudy Vallee and his idol, Bing Crosby had a great influence on him.
