Franz Liszt – Hungarian composer


Franz Liszt (1811-1886) was a Hungarian composer, known primarily as one of the first virtuoso performers on the modern piano. He was an innovator in style and harmony.
Franz Liszt was born on October 22, 1811 at Raiding. He received his first instruction from his father. At the age of 9 he played in public for the first time. Shortly thereafter his family moved to Vienna, where he began his studies with Carl Czerny and Antonio Salieri.
In 1823 Liszt left for Paris. The following year he gave his first concert there. Paris was Liszt’s home for 2 decades. He became friendly with Frederic Chopin, Felix Mendelssohn, A. M. L. de Lamartine, Victor Hugo, Heinrich Heine, and eventually Richard Wagner.

Arthur Lee – leader of Love


Arthur Lee was a leader, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter of the legendary Los Angeles psychedelic musical group Love. He is known as the “first black hippie”.
Arthur Taylor (his real name) was born on March 7, 1945 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the son of jazz cornetist Chester Taylor and schoolteacher Agnes Taylor. The Taylors moved to Los Angeles when Arthur was five years old. In 1953, his mother married Clinton Lee, whose name was taken by Arthur and he became Arthur Taylor Lee. Arthur spent his childhood and adolescence in the historic area of Los Angeles, West Adams. He studied at Susan Miller Dorsey High School, where he was good at basketball and broke the record for points in a game. In his school years, he teamed up with a friend of the family, John Echols (also from Tennessee), and created various musical groups.

Ian Stuart Donaldson was a British musician and known supporter of neo-Nazism. He was the founder of the rock group Skrewdriver, influenced the appearance of NS skinheads movement.
Ian Stuart Donaldson was born on August 11, 1957 in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire. He grew up in Blackpool. In the early seventies, he joined the skinheads. His friend started playing in a local band and Ian decided to create his own band. The first band was called Tumbling Dice and they played mainly cover versions of the Rolling Stones and The Who, but after receiving an invitation from the London Record Studios rest of the band refused to move to the capital, and the group disbanded. In 1976 he formed the group Skrewdriver inspired by the performances of Sex Pistols in Manchester. Initially, the band played punk music, but gradually reoriented to NS skinhead theme.

Marc Bolan was a British singer, songwriter and guitarist, leader of the band T. Rex. Before long creative activity with T. Rex (1967) he recorded solo singles and collaborated with the band John’s Children.
Mark Feld (his real name) was born on September 30, 1947. He grew up in a simple Jewish family in London. As a child, Mark was fond of early rock ‘n’ roll and at the age of 9 he received his first guitar. Soon he gathered a skiffle group. Even then, Mark was a rebel, and at the age of 14 he was expelled from school. Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan, Cliff Richard and Elvis Presley were among the artists who influenced Bolan. Later Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and Beach Boys were added to them.

Marc Anthony is a popular American singer, musician and composer, actor. He is popular not only in the countries of Latin America, but also abroad. Marc is the former husband of singer and actress Jennifer Lopez.
Marco Antonio Muñiz Ruiz (his real name) was born on September 16, 1968 in New York to Puerto Rican family. His mother was a housewife and his father was a musician and worked at the hospital cafeteria. Marc Anthony was named in honor of Marco Antonio Muniz, Mexican singer popular in Puerto Rico. He has a sister, whose name is Yolanda Muñiz.
Anthony worked as a composer and a backing singer for Menudo and Latin Rascals. His first album Rebel was recorded in 1988. Then in 1989, he sang backing vocals for Anne-Marie for her club hit With or Without You. A year later, in 1990, together with Little Louie Vega and Todd Terry, Marc wrote and sang the song You Should Know By Now.

Jeff Buckley was an American musician, multi-instrumentalist. At the dawn of his career, he participated in several bands as a session guitarist, later performed cover versions of popular songs on the East Village scene in Manhattan, and attracted the attention of record labels. He signed a contract with Columbia Records and led a musical group. In 1994 he recorded his only lifetime album, Grace. According to Rolling Stone magazine, he is one of the greatest rock vocalists. Jeff is most known for his cover version of the song Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen.
Jeffrey Scott Buckley was born on November 17, 1966 in Orange, California. The boy inherited strong vocal from his father, Tim Buckley. Jeff formed as a musician influenced by Crosby, Nash, Van Morrison and Led Zeppelin. At the age of five, he found the acoustic guitar, which was bought by his grandmother. Jeff met his father when he was 8 years old. It was their first and the last meeting. Father and son talked for about 15 minutes, smiling to each other. A few months later, Tim Buckley died of a drug overdose.

Douglas Glenn Colvin (his real name) was born on September 18, 1951 in Fort Lee, Virginia. Having moved from Virginia to Berlin as the son of a US soldier and his German wife, Colvin found himself a bit of an outsider when he returned to America at the age of sixteen.
Despite the fact that most of Ramones’ songs were signed by the names of all members of the group, Dee Dee was the author of most of the texts, including the songs 53rd & 3rd, Commando, Rockaway Beach and Poison Heart.
