Clint Eastwood – legendary actor and director
Clint Eastwood is an American film actor, film director and composer. He is a winner of four Oscar awards, Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award, the US National Medal of the Arts (2009), and the Honorary Cesar Award. He ranks among the world’s best known and most successful movie stars.
Clinton Eastwood was born on May 31, 1930 in San Francisco into a family of simple workers. His childhood was during the Great Depression, and the family often moved along the west coast in search of work. They settled in the town of Piedmont (California), where young Eastwood graduated from high school. Then he attended technical school in Auckland where he was offered to try his hand as an actor.
In 1951, Eastwood entered the University of Seattle, but he was drafted into the army and served at Fort Ord. There he was noted by an assistant director of the series Rawhide and was offered the role of a cowboy. Five years later, Clint was offered the lead role in the film A Fistful of Dollars. Later, Eastwood starred in For a Few Extra Dollars and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
In the period from the 1960s to the 1980s, Clint was one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. In 1969, the actor played in a single musical in his career – California Gold.
In 1962 Eastwood recorded an album of country covers and for some time performed with own program at fairs. Since the 2000s he has composed soundtracks for his own films.
In 1968 he founded Malpaso Company. Currently, Clint Eastwood is an authoritative director and was awarded two Oscars for Best Director in 1992 and 2004.
From 1986 to 1988 he served as mayor of Carmel, California.
On November 13, 2009 Eastwood became a Commander of the Order of the Legion of Honor. The highest state award of France was handed to the American actor by President Nicolas Sarkozy.
In the presidential election in the US in 2016, he was the only Hollywood star, who openly supported Donald Trump.
Eastwood is a big golf fan and owns Tehama Golf Club, in Carmel, California. He owns Mission Ranch hotel and restaurant.
The actor was married twice.
Eastwood married Maggie Johnson in 1953. His first wife gave birth to two children, Kyle (born on May 19, 1968) and Alison (born on May 22, 1972). They divorced in 1984.
After separating from Johnson, Eastwood spent more than a decade living with actress Sandra Locke, who appeared in many of his films.
On June 17, 1964 dancer Roxanne Tunis gave birth to his daughter Kimber.
From 1985 to 1988, Clint lived with Jacelyn Reeves, who gave birth to his son, Scott (born on March 21, 1986) and daughter, Catherine (born on February 2, 1988).
In 1990, Clint had a love affair with actress Frances Fisher, who appeared in The Pink Cadillac. On August 7, 1993 their daughter Francesca Ruth was born. In 1995, Clint and Frances broke up.
In 1996 he married Dina Ruiz, a television news anchorwoman. Their daughter Morgan was born on December 12, 1996.
In addition to children born in the official unions, Clint has five children born by different women. One of the daughters, Francesca, was awarded Miss Golden Globe.
In October 2013, Dina Eastwood filed for divorce. According to People magazine, before the divorce 83-year-old Eastwood started a new novel with 42-year-old Erica Fisher.
