Moby – Richard Melville Hall

Moby is an American DJ, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist working in different genres – from electronics to pop, rock and punk. His real name is Richard Melville Hall.
When I hear Moby I immediately think of Moby Dick, a novel by American classic Herman Melville. In fact, Herman Melville is Richard Hall’s great-great granduncle.
Moby is a spectacled bald guy who creates fantastic electronic music. He mixes different genres: trash, break-beat, ambient, dance-pop and creates a masterpiece.
He has a phenomenal sense of rhythm. One of his singles (Thousand) was even put into the Guinness Book as the fastest single ever, approximately clocking in at 1000 beats a minute.

Moby was born in New York on September 11, 1965, but grew up in Darien, Connecticut. When he was two years old, his father died in a car accident and the boy was raised by his mother.
He plays keyboard instrument, guitar, bass guitar and drum kit.
In the early years he played in hardcore punk band The Vatican Commandos, but in 1989 he changed punk to electronic music.
