Jawaharlal Nehru was one of the most prominent politicians of the XX century. He was the leader of the Indian national liberation movement and became the first prime minister of independent India. His spiritual and political mentor was Mahatma Gandhi, whose covenants he had followed throughout his life.
Nehru’s father was a well-known lawyer and one of the leaders of the country’s largest party, the Indian National Congress (INC). Jawaharlal (the name is translated from Hindi as “precious ruby”) was born in 1889 and the father wanted him to continue his work. Therefore, as soon as the young man was sixteen years old, he was sent to study in England at the prestigious Harrow school. After graduating from this elite school, Jawaharlal continued his studies at the law faculty of Cambridge University. Despite the fact that he was a good student the young man considered law to be too boring. At that time, he was seriously interested in aviation and dreamed of becoming a military pilot. Robert Koch – German bacteriologist

Ebola pandemic. Flashing outbreaks of “animal” flu. The massive spread of the “plague of the XXI century” – AIDS. Pharmaceutical companies report on the creation of the next “miracle vaccines” against these misfortunes. But unfortunately…
All kinds of “pioneers” of panacea for monstrous diseases earn billions from their highly controversial vaccines. But at the same time they like to refer in every possible way to the great forerunner – the “disinterested” Robert Koch, the Nobel laureate and the “conqueror of tuberculosis”.
Heinrich Hermann Robert Koch was rightly considered the head of European microbiologists. A simple rural doctor, he had passion for scientific research. Working in a primitive rural laboratory, Koch developed a number of new methods in the study of microbes. In 1871, his wife gave Robert a microscope for his birthday, and since then he spent all days at the device examining various tissues … In 1890, Koch invented tuberculin – a drug designed for mass tuberculin diagnostics in the form of a Mantoux test. His whole life is an example of the asceticism of a scientist who has treated people in different countries of the world.

The third round the world voyage in history following Magellan and Drake was made by Englishman Thomas Cavendish. He managed to circle the globe in two years and fifty days. It was a speed record that lasted for two centuries.
Thomas Cavendish was born into the family of a landowner in Trimley Saint Martin near Ipswich (East Suffolk County), where his father had an estate in 1560. Since childhood Thomas wanted adventure, fame and money. At the age of 15, he began studying at the College in Cambridge, which he left two years later. Although he never received a degree, this did not prevent him from being elected to parliament from Shaftesbury (Dorset).
However, Thomas continued to dream of new lands and sea adventures. The dream led to the fact that a physically strong young man joined the royal fleet. When he realized that he had mastered the profession of a sailor well, he became a pirate in the Caribbean Sea. He managed to serve on several filibuster ships, after which he returned home.
