Britney Spears is an American pop singer, dancer, songwriter, and actress. Her debut album Baby One More Time made her worldwide famous, and the eponymous single topped Billboard Hot 100. The Daily Yomiuri called her “the most gifted pop idol of recent years”. For the single Toxic, Spears got her first Grammy award. For the song Piece of Me she received three awards – best pop song, best female video and video 2007. In December 2008, her single Womanizer topped Billboard Hot 100. Spears was recognized the best-selling female singer of the last decade in the United States and took the 12th place in the list of the richest women in the world.
In 2002, Spears starred in the film Crossroads. In 2008 Phil Griffin released biopic Britney: For the Record. In 2012, Spears became a judge of the second season of The X Factor USA. At the end of May 2012 Forbes magazine named her the highest paid singer in Hollywood.

Britney Jean Spears was born on December 2, 1981 in McComb, Mississippi. Her mother is a former elementary school teacher and aerobics trainer, her father is a builder and a cook. Her brother Bryan works as a manager. In 2009 he married Graselle Rivera. Her sister Jamie Lynn is an actress and country music singer.
At the age of 9 Spears became professionally engaged in artistic gymnastics and participated in the regional competition. The girl also sang in the choir of the local Baptist church.

Britney studied at Professional Performing Arts School in New York and participated in several productions, including Ruthless! in 1991. In 1992, she participated in Star Search contest, but lost in the second round.

In November 2001 her third album Britney was released. Immediately after the release Spears went on Dream Within a Dream Tour.
In June 2002, Spears opened Nyla restaurant in New York but it was closed in 2003.
In November 2003, the singer released her fourth studio album In the Zone. It made her the first performer in history whose first four albums were on top of the rankings. The most successful single from the album – Toxic – brought her the first Grammy award.

In May 2007, Spears and The M and M’s gave 6 concerts in the House of Blues tour in Los Angeles, San Diego, Anaheim, Las Vegas, Orlando and Miami.
On September 9, 2007 she performed with the song Gimme More at MTV Video Music Awards.
On October 30, 2007 she released her fifth studio album Blackout.
In the middle of July 2008, Spears starred in the video for Madonna’s tour Sticky & Sweet, and at the beginning of August – in the promo video for the MTV Video Music Awards 2008. Her single Piece of Me won in three categories – best pop video, best female video and best video of the year.
At MTV Video Music Awards 2011 Britney received a special award named after Michael Jackson.
Her eighth studio album Britney Jean was released on November 29, 2013.
On January 8, 2014 at the 40th People’s Choice Awards ceremony, held in Los Angeles, the singer won in the category Favorite Pop Artist.
In the spring of 2016 Spears appeared on the cover of V Magazine.
Her ninth studio album was released in 2016.

Britney and Justin Timberlake were together for 4 years.

On January 3, 2004 Spears married Jason Alexander, her childhood friend. The marriage was annulled after 55 hours.

On September 18, 2005 Spears married Kevin Federline. On September 14, 2005 Britney gave birth to her son Sean Preston Federline. On September 12, 2006 she gave birth to her second son Jayden James Federline. On July 30, 2006 Spears and Federline divorced.

In late 2011, Britney and her former agent and boyfriend Jason Trawick got engaged. In January 2013, Spears and Trawick broke off the engagement.

In the spring of 2013 Britney began dating lawyer David Lucado. At the end of August 2014 it was announced that Britney Spears and David Lucado parted. In November of the same year she officially confirmed in an interview with Extra TV that she dated with producer Charlie Ebersol.
