Donald Trump is the 45th president of the United States of America. On November 8, 2016 Trump won the presidential election and he takes office on January 20, 2017. The well-known businessman and media mogul, Trump is the president of a construction conglomerate Trump Organization and the founder of Trump Entertainment Resorts, which specializes in the gaming and hospitality industry. In 1996-2015 he was the owner of the beauty contest Miss USA. In addition, he was executive produced and presenter of the reality show Candidate on NBC. He appeared as himself in a number of movies and TV series. He is known for his extravagant lifestyle and outspoken style of communication.
Donald John Trump was born on June 14, 1946 in Queens, New York. Trump has two brothers and two sisters. Donald was the fourth of five children of Frederick C. and Mary MacLeod Trump. Frederick Trump was a builder and real estate developer who came to specialize in constructing and operating middle income apartments in the Queens, Staten Island, and Brooklyn.
Donald attended Kew-Forest school in Forest Hills. At the age of 13 he was sent to New York Military Academy. He received Academy Awards, played in the football team in 1962 and 1963, as well as in a baseball team in 1962-1964 (he was team captain in 1964). Baseball coach, Ted Dobias, known for his selfless work with children, awarded him the prize Coach in 1964.
He graduated from Wharton in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a specialization in finance. The company of his father was the leader in real estate.
Trump began his career in his father’s company.
In 1971 Donald moved to Manhattan. There he saw the economic potential of the city, especially in the large building projects in Manhattan. There he became familiar with many influential people.
By 1989, because of the financial crisis, Trump was unable to repay the loans. By 1991 increasing debt put him on the brink of personal bankruptcy.
In 1990 he opened the Taj Mahal at Atlantic City, the largest hotel-casino in the world.
In 1995, Trump was elected to the Gaming Hall of Fame. In the same year he joined the Trump Casino and public company Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts.
He participated in the presidential elections of 2000. He won the primaries in Michigan and California. Then he came out of the race.
In November 2013, Donald Trump visited Moscow, which hosted the contest Miss Universe 2013 (since 1996 Trump owns the rights to the annual beauty contest Miss Universe). Trump said that he was going to build a skyscraper in Moscow – an analog of New York’s business center Trump Tower.
Donald Trump has been nominated for two Emmy Awards for played roles as himself in television series and feature films such as Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Nanny, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Days our lives, Two Weeks Notice. Trump is also involved in various talk shows and other television programs.
In 2007, Trump received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his participation in the television series Candidate.
In autumn 2009, Trump created a network marketing company Trump Network, which sells vitamins without intermediaries. Products include: PrivaTest – multivitamins, Silhoutte Solution – products for weight loss and QuikStik – drinks to raise vitality.
Personal life
In 1977 Trump married 28-year-old Ivana Zelnichkova, a New York fashion model who had been an alternate on the 1968 Czech Olympic Ski Team, in 1977. They have three children: Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric. In 1992 they divorced.
In 1993 Trump married 29-year-old Marla Maples. He has daughter, Tiffany, from that marriage. They divorced on June 8, 1999.
Trump and Melanie Knavs (who is 24 years younger than Trump) were married on January 22, 2005 in Bethesda in Sea Episcopal Church on the island of Palm Beach, Florida, and then got married in Mar a Lago – Trump’s estate.
On March 20, 2006 Melanie gave birth to a son named Barron William Trump.
Trump has eight grandchildren.
