Dwayne Johnson – wrestler and actor

Dwayne Johnson is an American wrestler and film actor, also known under the pseudonym The Rock. From 1996 to 2004 he performed in World Wrestling Federation / Entertainment (WWF / E). He is an eight-time WWF / E champion, two-time WCW champion, two-time WWF Intercontinental champion. He is also the sixth Triple Crown champion and the winner of the Battle Royal in 2000.
In 2000, Johnson wrote an autobiographical book The Rock Says, which debuted in first place in the list of New York Times bestsellers.
In 2001, he began acting in movies, and in 2002 starred in the movie The Scorpion King. His fee ($ 5.5 million) entered the Guinness Book of Records as the highest fee for the first starring role. In addition, Johnson starred in such films as The Mummy Returns, Walking Tall, The Rundown, Doom, Tooth Fairy, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra 2, Hercules, as well as in The Fast and The Furious.

Dwayne Johnson was born on May 2, 1972 in Hayward, USA into a family of a famous wrestler Soulman Rocky Johnson and promoter Ata Maivia. As a child, he lived for some time in Auckland, New Zealand with his mother’s family. Later he moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. Then his parents moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he attended Bethlehem Freedom senior school. At school he began to play American football and was a member of the school athletics and wrestling teams. After school Johnson entered the University of Miami.
In 1991 his football team won the NCAA national championship. In 1995 Johnson graduated from university with a bachelor’s degree in criminology and psychology. After graduation, he signed a three-year contract with Calgary Stampeders team, but after playing one season, injured his back and was forced to end the career of a professional footballer.
In 1996 Johnson made his debut in the WWF under the name Rocky Maivia. On February 13, 1997 he won the title of Intercontinental WWF Champion.
On March 29, 2008 Johnson appeared at the ceremony of the induction of his father Rocky Johnson, and grandfather Peter Maiva into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Personal life
On May 3, 1997, the day after his 25th birthday, Johnson married Dany Garcia. On August 14, 2001 their daughter Simone Alexandra was born. On June 1, 2007 the couple announced that they had broken up but remained good friends.
