Kristen Stewart – American actress
Kristen Stewart is an American actress. She is the first actress in history of the country, awarded the French prize Cesar for supporting actress in drama Clouds of Sils Maria (2015). Kristen received wide acclaim for her role as Bella Swan in the film series Twilight.
Kristen Jaymes Stewart was born on April 9, 1990 in Los Angeles, California. Her family briefly moved to Colorado, and then again returned to Los Angeles, where her father, John Stewart, worked as an assistant director, producer and director of numerous shows on Fox. She has a whole elder brother – Cameron Stewart and two foster brothers – Dan and Taylor.
The agent noted the girl on the school stage. He contacted the girl’s parents and offered to support her interest in acting. Initially, parents were against this idea, but Kristen persuaded them and at the age of 8 she began to attend auditions for roles in films and serials. Kristen’s first appearance on the screen was a year later in The Thirteenth Year on Disney Channel. A more serious role was in the independent melodrama The Safety of Objects (2001), where she played the daughter of a single mother.
In 2002, Stewart starred in David Fincher’s major Hollywood film Panic Room. Then she played the role of the daughter of Dennis Quaid and Sharon Stone in Cold Creek Manor (2003). Next work in teenage comedy Catch That Kid (2004) became her first major role.
The next film Speak (2004), an independent film adaptation of the eponymous best-selling novel by Laurie Halse Anderson, gave Kristen a chance to play a very difficult role. Unfortunately, only truncated version was shown on Showtime and Lifetime channels.
Jon Favreau’s film Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005) was filmed in the fantasy genre. That same year, Stewart starred in the title role in the Canadian film Fierce People directed by Griffin Dunne.
Kristen was nominated for Young Actor award three years in a row (in 2003 – for her role in the movie Panic Room, in 2004 – Cold Creek Manor and in 2005 – Undertow), but never won.
In 2006, Stewart starred in the drama In the Land of Women with Meg Ryan and Adam Brody. Then followed another starring role in the movie The Messengers (2007), a thriller by the renowned Thai filmmakers and brothers Danny and Oxide Pang, and the role of women, suffering from serious illness, in the directorial debut of Mary Masterson, The Cake Eaters (2007).
In 2007 there was Sean Penn’s film Into the Wild, loosely based on the bestselling book by Jon Krakauer about the life of Christopher McCandless.
In November 2007, Summit Entertainment announced that Kristen would star in the role of Bella Swan in the Twilight romantic thriller based on the book by Stephenie Meyer. The film was released November 2008. In December 2008 she starred in the comedy drama What Just Happened along with Robert De Niro, Bruce Willis and Sean Penn.
In spring 2009 Greg Mottola’s comedy Adventureland, in which Kristen played a major role, was released. At the end of the year she played in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and won the MTV award for Best Actress and the prize for Best Kiss with Robert Pattinson.
In 2009-2010, the actress participated in several projects, including the third part of Twilight. In the movie The Runaways, Stewart played the role of Joan Jett – the leader of the female punk band The Runaways.
In 2010, the actress played the most provocative role in the film On the Road based on the novel by Jack Kerouac.
In 2011, she played in the film Snow White and the Huntsman.
In 2013, Forbes magazine named her the third after Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lawrence highest paid actress in Hollywood.
In the drama Camp X-Ray (2014), Stewart starred as the young guard in the Guantanamo Bay detention camp.
After the Cannes Film Festival 2016 Kristen has decided to try her hand as a director.
In 2004-2009, the actress dated actor Michael Angarano, whom she met on the set of the movie Speak.
On the set of the film Twilight in 2008 she met actor Robert Pattinson. The first rift occurred in the summer of 2012, following the story of a romance between Kristen Stewart and director of the film Snow White and the Huntsman Rupert Sanders. Pattinson had sold the house in which he was going to live with Kristen, and the actress went to her mother. But in September 2012, they reunited and Robert made a marriage proposal. However, they finally broke up after a while.
On August 24, 2016 it was announced that Kristen made a proposal to her girlfriend Alicia Cargile. But two months later she changed her plans and broke off the engagement. After parting with the “bride” Kristen began to appear in public with the singer Annie Clark.
