Ornella Muti – Italian actress and singer
Ornella Muti is an Italian actress and singer.
Francesca Romana Rivelli (her real name) was born on March 9, 1955 in Rome, Italy. Her father was a reporter, and her mother worked as a sculptor. The girl has a twin sister named Claudia. Her grandparents were born in St. Petersburg (Russia) and then moved to Estonia. When Francesca was only ten years old, her father died and the mother was left alone with two daughters.
13-year-old girl worked as a model for the Italian magazine Fotoromanzi, she posed naked for erotic magazines.
At the age of 15 she began playing in movies. Young Francesca received her artistic pseudonym – Ornella Muti – from film director Damiano Damiani. She made her debut in his film The Most Beautiful Wife.
Notable success came to the actress in 1974, after her role in the comedy Come Home and Meet My Wife (Romanzo popolare).
She became popular after the role in the film The Last Woman (1976) in which she starred along with Gerard Depardieu. Ornella was as famous as Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida. Movies The Bishop’s Bedroom and I nuovi mostri only strengthened the status of the actress.
She starred in Italian films, but in 1980 the actress played in the British science fiction film Flash Gordon. In 1984 she appeared in Volker Schlöndorff’s film Swann in Love with Alain Delon. Muti worked with Italian directors Marco Ferreri and Dino Risi. In 1994, Muti has become a resident of Monaco.
In 1998, she starred in the serial film The Count of Monte Cristo.
The actress is the guest of honor at the Cannes Film Festival.
She starred in the title role in the film Life is Beautiful by the Soviet director Grigory Chukhray.
In the 2000s, her notable roles were in the films Jet Set (2000), Les bronzes, The Inquiry (2006), To Rome with Love (2012).
In 2008, Ornella launched her own jewelry line, opened boutiques in Rome, Milan, Paris, Riga, Moscow and Almaty.
On February 25, 2015 the actress was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment and a fine of 600 euros for fraud. She canceled the show because of the illness but on the same day she took part in the charity event with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg.
In 2016 she bought an apartment in Moscow and announced her intention to get Russian citizenship.
Her Italian nickname is Donna-Bambina.
Ornella Muti is a vegetarian.

Personal life
At the beginning of her acting career, Ornella fell in love with a young Italian and became pregnant. The father of the child left her when she refused to have an abortion. The actress gave birth to a daughter and a year later married Alessio Orano, who was her partner in the first film. The marriage broke up and Alessio told everyone that he wasn’t a father of Ornella’s daughter.
Later Ornella had a relationship with producer Federico Fakinetti and gave birth to her son and the second daughter.
On the set of the film Il Bisbetico Domato (1980, the plot was inspired by William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew) Ornella had a love affair with Adriano Celentano.
In 1998, Ornella married plastic surgeon Stefano Piccolo, who is 10 years younger than the actress. They were together until 2008.
Since 2008 she is in a relationship with businessman Fabrice Kerherve.
