Pierce Brosnan – actor and producer

Pierce Brosnan is an Irish and American actor and producer. He played the role of James Bond in four films Golden Eye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999) and Die Another Day (2002). He is Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
Pierce Brendan Brosnan was born on May 16, 1953 in Drogheda, Ireland. His father left the family a year after of the boy’s birth and his mother left the baby to his grandmother. At the age of 11, the boy and his moved to London. 16-year-old Brosnan began working in the photo studio. In 1973, he entered the Drama Centre London, where he studied acting for three years. After the graduation he played in theaters and on television.

In 1981, Brosnan received a role in the American television series The Manions of America. So he moved to the United States. His fame grew after NBC Remington Steele detective series. At that time, he was offered the role of James Bond after it was refused by Roger Moore.

In 1986, Brosnan received an offer to play in the film The Living Daylights, but he rejected the offer and the role went to Timothy Dalton.
In the early 1990s, Brosnan appeared in The Lawnmower Man and Mrs. Doubtfire.
Brosnan first played the role of James Bond in the 1995 film Golden Eye. It was a success followed by Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) and The World Is Not Enough (1999).
Brosnan began to receive invitations to play in other films. In 1996, he played in the movie Dante’s Peak and The Mirror Has Two Faces with Barbra Streisand, Tim Burton’s comedy Mars Attacks!, The Thomas Crown Affair.
In 2002, he played James Bond for the fourth time in the movie Die Another Day. He is considered the best in this role, after Sean Connery, who also praised his work.
Today he has two nominations for Golden Globe and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In 2016 Pierce Brosnan became the face of the men’s collection of the Burberry brand.

Personal life
In 1980, Pierce Brosnan married Cassandra Harris and adopted her two children – Charlotte Emily (27.11.1971-28.06.2013) and Christopher (born 11.11.1972). In 1981, Cassandra played a Bond girl in the movie For Your Eyes Only. Their son, who later became an actor, was born on September 13, 1983. In 2012, he played a major role in the movie U.F.O. Cassandra died from ovarian cancer in 1991.
On August 4, 2001 the actor married Keely Shaye Smith. They have two sons – Dylan Thomas (born 13.01.1997) and Paris Beckett (born 27.02.2001).
