Angelina Jolie Pitt is an American actress, director and screenwriter, fashion model, UN goodwill ambassador. She won Oscar, three Golden Globe awards (the first actress in history to win the award for three consecutive years) and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2009, 2011 and 2013 according to Forbes Jolie was named the highest paid actress in Hollywood.
Angelina Jolie Voight was born on June 4, 1975 in Los Angeles into a family of Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight and actress Marcheline Bertrand. Angelina has an older brother – James Haven. Famous actors Maximilian Schell and Jacqueline Bisset are her godparents. Jolie’s parents separated in 1976 and the mother, one-year-old Angelina and her brother moved to New York. A year later Voight received Oscar and Bertrand had to forget her dreams of a successful acting career and dedicated her time to children. She often took them to the cinema and Jolie became interested in acting.
At the age of seven the girl made her film debut opposite her father in Lookin’ to Get Out. 11-year-old Angelina began studying acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.

At the age of 16 she worked as a professional model in London, New York and Los Angeles. Musical groups and singers such as the Rolling Stones, Lemonheads, Meatloaf, and Lenny Kravitz cast her in their music videos, and even her brother James Haven Voight directed her in his student films for the University of Southern California School of Cinema. Jolie studied at L.A.’s MET Theatre Company.

In 1997, she had a supporting role in the box office bomb Playing God, starring David Duchovny and Timothy Hutton.
In the same year she was awarded Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe Award and an Emmy nomination for her role as Cornelia Wallace in the TV movie George Wallace. She won her second Golden Globe for her role as model Gia Carangi in HBO’s biopic Gia.
In 2001, Jolie was appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
In 2007, Jolie made her debut as a film director with a documentary A Place in Time. This was followed by other works: In the Land of Blood and Honey (2011) and Unbroken (2014).
In 2014 film Maleficent, a kind of remake of the famous fairy tale Sleeping Beauty in which Jolie played a major role, was the biggest to date, box office success of the actress.
She starred in many famous films, including thrillers like The Bone Collector (1999) and Taking Lives (2004), as well as blockbusters such as Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), A Mighty Heart (2007), and Wanted (2008) and many others.
Jolie has established several charitable organizations. In 2003, she founded the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which is dedicated to the development of communities and preserve the environment in the north-western province of Battambang, Cambodia.

In 2006, she collaborated with the Global Health Committee to create the Maddox Chivan Children’s Center. In the same year, together with Pitt Jolie announced the establishment of the charity fund Jolie / Pitt Foundation.
In 2007, Jolie and economist Gene Sperling founded the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict for children affected by man-made or natural disasters.
In 2015 together with Chloe Dalton and Arminka Helic Jolie created Jolie Pitt Dalton Helic partnership dedicated, among other things, to women’s rights and international justice.

Personal life
In 1996 Jolie married British actor Jonny Lee Miller. They were separated within the year and filed for divorce in 1999.

In 2000, Angelina met Billy Bob Thornton on the set of the film Pushing Tin. On May 5, 2000 they were married in Las Vegas, but three years later (May 2003), Jolie and Thornton divorced. In 2002 they adopted a Cambodian boy named Maddox Chivan Thornton Jolie.

Jolie had a love affair with her co-star Jenny Shimizu.
On July 6, 2005, Angelina Jolie adopted her second child, a 6-month-old girl named Zahara Marley from Ethiopia.
On the set of the film Mr. & Mrs. Smith Angelina met Brad Pitt, who was married to the star of the television series Friends Jennifer Aniston. They said Angelina was a reason for their divorce. On May 27, 2006, Angelina gave birth to Brad Pitt’s child, a girl named Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, in Namibia.
In March 2007, Jolie adopted a 3-year-old boy from Vietnam, Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, who was born on November 29, 2003.
On July 12, 2008 she gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl.
On August 23, 2014 Jolie married Pitt in France.
In June 2015 there were rumors that Angelina and Brad are on the verge of breaking up.
