Anna Faris – American comedienne
Anna Faris is an American comedienne, singer and producer. She is best known for her role as Cindy Campbell in a series of Scary Movie films.
Anna Kay Faris was born on November 29, 1976 in Baltimore. Her mother Karen worked as a teacher in Seaview Elementary School, and her father Jack Faris worked as a sociologist at Washington University. She has a younger brother, Robert, who is also a professor of sociology at the University of California in Davis. Faris has Scottish, Irish, English, German and French roots. When Anna was 6 years old her family moved to Edmonds.
Since childhood Anna wanted to become an actress, and at the age of 9 she played her first role in Seattle theater. 14-year-old girl, while studying at Edmond high school, appeared in television commercials of frozen yogurt. After high school she entered the University of Washington, where she studied English literature.
Her first big role in a movie was the role of Janelle Bay in Lovers Lane (1999). In the next year she played Cindy Campbell in Scary Movie and also played in the next three sequels.
In 2003 she got a role in the film Lost in Translation. Then she appeared in supporting roles in the films Brokeback Mountain (2005), My Super Ex-Girlfriend (2006). In 2007, for her role in Smiley Face Faris was awarded Stony Award.
In summer 2007, Anna starred in three episodes of the television series Entourage as a guest star. The following year she starred in the comedy The House Bunny. She also was a producer of this film.
Anna voiced Sam Sparks in the animated film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009) and Janet chipmunk in the film Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 (2009) and Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D (2011).
Faris appeared on the covers of Raygun, Playboy, Self, Cosmopolitan and others. According to Maxim magazine, Anna took 57, 39 and 42 places in the list of Hot 100 in 2004, 2009 and 2010, respectively. According to FHM magazine in 2009, she was ranked 60th in the list of 100 Sexiest Women in the World, and 96th in 2010.
Personal life
In 1999, on the set of the film Lovers Lane Faris met her first husband Ben Indra. In June 2004 they got married. However, they divorced in February 2008 and Faris had to pay $ 900,000 – it was compensation for Ben.
In 2007, Faris met actor Chris Pratt and on July 9, 2009 Anna married him. On August 25, 2012 their son Jack was born.
